Shirdi Sai Devotee Lavinaji From India Continues: Sai Ram! I am Lavina from Pune, belonging to MP-14 Rekha Sai group since last two years, and feeling blessed to be a part of it. This post is about Baba’s Murti Sthaapna And Akhand Sai Satcharita Paath in continuation to the part 1 shared on 15th Oct 2019.

 Disappointed that I was not being able to go ahead with Baba’s padukas and also the fact that Baba’s murti delivery had been suddenly delayed I slept with tears that night.

The next day morning I messaged the murti person asking how the climate was. I checked the forecast. It was rainy. He said whatever the change in date would be, he would say the next day but I should be prepared for it. Saddened inside, I prayed to Baba, asked my hubby to pick chit as I didn’t have the guts to face the answer for change of date. The answer was ‘no’ for date change. I was happy and said to Baba “Now You only see what and how to do”. My search for Padukas was ongoing meanwhile as my mom was reading Sai Chalisa somehow while chanting she realised my cousin in Paratwada near Amravati works extensively in sagwan woods and had chandan too. I called my sister to enquire and spoke to my jiju (sister’s hubby). I told him I wanted chandan wood for Baba’s padukas and tried very hard but could not find. He started laughing and said “don’t worry, your work will be done, just give me the size”. I said, “near 8 inches to 12 inches.” He said give some time to check. I told him that I wanted original one only. To which he said that chandan tree was grown in his garden itself so it will be original. I felt absolutely wow but raised the concern that Paratwada had a strict ongoing curfew. He said he would check and call back but then called him again that evening.

Jiju : “didi there is curfew here so no one is there to deliver the chandan log as it is banned. Also as curfew is going on no one is here to help. Wait till tomorrow morning I will let you know. But one issue, I will give chandan but won’t be delivering as sending is very risky and could result in imprisonment if caught”.
I said that I would come to pick it up.

It was a journey of 15 hours one way from Pune. I was tensed about going all the way alone but could do anything to get it for Baba.

Next morning again I called the murti person. When he received he was very happy and said that a miracle had taken place! The murti not only dried up before time but it came out of dye on its own. This was something that had never happened.

He said “We made 150 statues of Baba, 3 in fibre but never have we witnessed such a thing! You are blessed by Baba. My whole staff is surprised.
Also added that his father just sat with hands on his head in complete wonder! I was overwhelmed and tears were rolling down from eyes.

Few hours later, jiju sent me a picture of chandan log also. I spoke to my husband regarding me going and if he could arrange a person who could go. That day was a Tuesday, when the person was about to sit in the bus, jiju called and said not to send the person that day as a murder was reported so it was risky and more patrolling was going on. Surprisingly, that bus person didn’t charge a penny for ticket cancellation. He refunded full amount. Baba has His own ways!

Then next day things were settled and we issued tickets and the person left. He reached Thursday morning, took chandan bag and left the same day in the evening. Whatever time he was there in Paratwada he was very freely moving around the city. My sister said between he reached and left, only during that time curfew was open, otherwise from 6.30 pm in evening again it was strictly all closed. Our office person had reached bus stand at 5.45 pm. After he left at an hour of drive, on the way to Pune, bus was stopped for checking. Inspectors were not only checking but clicked pictures also of what people were carrying. For ensuring safety my sister had sent some oranges as they are famous there, so when he opened he could see only oranges and nothing else. Do you know what was the log size of chandan? It was one 15 inch and other 17 inch that big log but ‘Baba- The Greatest Officer’ managed everything so well that these officers couldn’t find anything. When we called him in two hours he told us about the inspection. I was scared and had sleepless night till he reached Pune. He reached safe and sound by the grace of Baba. Everything was going smoothly. With time now my heart beats were increasing. Here near my place where I had met Kaka, I called him and informed that I would be going to him the next day with Chandan log for Paduka making. But he said that he would be able to start making only after 10th October as he was overloaded with work already, so wasn’t ready to take up the work before completing the old order. Again a challenge was placed before me by Baba. I was also telling Baba “I am Your daughter and trust You completely”! The confidence which my hubby gave me also kept me calm and motivated that everything will be on time. I remember then I called 2 to 3 people who could help me to convince that person for making it, and finally he got convinced and took up my order but said that he would give the paduka on Sunday that was 5th evening. I said ok. Actually I had plans to take Baba’s paduka to Shirdi before 8th (Murti Staapna pooja at home). But may be Baba had His own plans. I just knew that with every challenge that Baba gave me, that is in appointing a pandit, designing Baba’s temple, wallpaper selection though double time was consumed but cost reduction was also there. And Baba knew well how I was working with my limited budget!

Next was Panditji appointment for pooja. Usually pandit ji are easily available as we have many temples nearby. But had a tough time doing that too. I had asked one of the ganpati temple pandit to do the pooja. He was okay. After everything was settled, he gave a rough idea of how much he would charge and the list of necessary items. Then after 2 to 3 days he asked me what was the material of murti. When I said fibre he said it cannot be done. He mentioned some two- three material, only in that murti he said we can do pran pratishtha. I was deeply sad. Also adding to my grief he said, “You can keep that murti like a show piece and get one more murti of 1 feet in wood or panch dhatu for which pooja can be done”. I was almost in tears when he said to keep murti for show purpose. I was actually thinking how he could even say that! I called that old kaka. He asked me to remember his words “people are fake” and that pran pratishtha can be done even with a picture of God and this was Baba’s murti. He said don’t listen and asked me to see someone else. That day I went to Sai temple that is just in front of my house. As I entered the temple, I saw details of one pandit on the board there who was appointed for Baba’s temple. I know Baba helped me again!
Till 8th October, I could not understand why was pandit appointment was changed and so on but on pooja day when that pandit dressed Baba and knew each and every little thing of Baba’s necessity and requirement, and how things were to be done, I was pleasantly surprised. Only who has been a Baba sevak could know all the details he knew! And with this I got my answer as to why Baba changed the pandit through me!

Baba’s temple when planned was very different and simple. As I went to Shirdi on last day of Ganpati, carpenter was going to come home to start work the same day as the next day pitrapaath were starting so we wouldn’t start new work after that.
But after visiting Shirdi, Baba again helped me. I had a talk with my hubby and we changed the design and you won’t believe that day carpenter came but just stuck sunmica to ply to give the work a start, rest of the cutting part started the next day and the changes I had discussed were easily incorporated. Baba Himself designed His place through me. I started preparations for pranpratishtha pooja on 8th.

7 th Oct arrived Baba was supposed to reach Pune around 2 pm in the afternoon. I was excited and called the driver after every hour. He kept saying one hour more, half an hour more. I was like getting more time to do preparations. Now it was 4.30 pm. I realized I hadn’t eaten anything since morning and may be that was the reason Baba was not coming as Baba says “No quest is complete on an empty stomach!”. I realized that was probably the reason Baba was taking time. I had food and then called the driver again. This time he said he had almost reached. Wow! Baba has His own way to take care of His devotees!

We were supposed to meet the driver somewhere on the way to my house. We reached the place, and with every passing second my heart beats were getting faster and louder, eyes were watery. I don’t know what I was experiencing and may not be able to express in words. Anxiety, excitement, happiness, love had completely taken over me! When he came home with Baba the driver had 2 Baba’s murtis. One was our’s and other was Dwarkamai pose and in marble which driver had to deliver in Hyderabad. He thought the marble one was our murti which was more than 600kgs. He said we will need a professional crane to lift till 3rd floor. When I had spoken to the owner of murti he had said 4 people were enough and we had arranged for 4 people only. Later the confusion resolved, we told him which was our murti and 4 people picked it up. With this though I realised how Baba had instead made things simpler for me selecting the murti material for me Himself!

Baba had His own timing to enter the house too. Due to the confusion and carrying Baba to the 3rd floor sometime had passed. Now as Baba was entering the house, it was 7pm, and we could hear the bells ringing! (It was aarti time of the Sai Baba temple that is just opposite my house and we can usually clearly hear the bells and aarti in our house). Baba’s bhajans were playing in my house. Suddenly we heard Baba’s hails, that is “Anant Koti Brahmand, Nayak Raja Dhiraaj, Yogi Raj, Par Brahma, Shri Satchidananda Sadguru, Sai Nath Maharaj Ki Jai.”!!! We all were looking at each other with utmost surprise and delight! Baba’s grand entry was planned by none other than Baba Himself!

Now was the time! I was standing numb, waiting for Baba to come out of the wooden box. As He was being unveiled I stood there speechless and motionless, just crying and crying! The wait was finally over, Baba was home and my happiness was boundless! We did all the procedures as guided by panditji and our elders. Baba was settled at His place. Thus the 8th murti sthaapna and pran pratishtha pooja went on smoothly by Baba’s grace!

On 9th October, we kept a jug of water for Him. We usually drink it the next day as prasad. I prayed to Baba that “if everything was fine with the pooja the previous day and if He was happy here, please make this water sweet”. That would be a signal to me. And believe me, when I changed the water the next day I could clearly feel Baba’s presence there. Not only had the water turned sweeter but could get chandan smell too!
I was very happy that Baba was happy! Also, my earlier visit to Shirdi (during Ganesh utsav) gave me Baba’s Dhuni that I really wanted in spite of knowing getting it was difficult. When I went to Shirdi again on 12th October, the Kaka who gives bath to Baba in the morning gave me a bottle full of Baba’s holy water (which was used to give Baba a bath), that is considered to be the greatest medicine and prasad having the power to cure several diseases and giving bliss!

Now we had arranged for Akhand Sai Satcharitra Paath on 15th October (Baba’s Mahasamadhi Day). Anyone could come to read Shri Sai Satcharitra book in sequence. I invited nearly 100 people from my end and asked my near and dear ones to spread the word. I wanted to complete the target of at least 108 people reading that day. And again Baba managed so well that I had 138 members who read. Also that day in the morning I was waiting for 3 to 4 people to come early in the morning to help to start the reading as once I’d start, there should be people who could follow and keep the reading continuous after me. Baba made me start. One of my friends messaged me that she was going to Bombay and would stop by early morning for the reading and the reading started on time because of her. I had given her the second part of the 1st chapter as we all know the first part of Chapter 1 of Sai Satcharitra is of pranaams to Ganesh ji, Kuldevi, Our Ancestors etc. by Hemadpant which went perfectly went with my situation and gave her the ‘grain grinding’ part. Also I really wanted that the reading should be continuous and no one should repeat that is reads twice. Baba managed so well that throughout the day at least some people were in the waiting and the reading went on just I had imagined and wished for!

When chapter 48 was going on, I had 3-4 members only and was worried thinking would have to give each one chapter. Asked my friends to call people and relatives from their end but since it was late evening everyone were busy and no one could turn up. Again Baba’s magic and 8 to 10 people turned up and completed all 51 chapters perfectly! During aarti the house was full. The aarti went on beautifully and hence again experienced Baba’s divinity with the completion of Baba’s Akhand Paath (Pictures are attached to the post of Baba’s Murti, paduka, Staapna and Sai Akhand Paath). Baba has truly blessed me and my family. Thank You Baba. Keep Your loving hand on us always.
