Shirdi Sai Baba devotee Shanthi Rao from India says : Sai Ram! I’m Shanthi Rao from Bangalore and I’m here to share my experience which happened on the 1st Thursday of our Mahaparayan. Somehow I had not made up my mind for sharing this event. I belong to a Brahmin community, a Madhwa Brahmin, belonging to the Uttaradhi mutt. This particular sect don’t believe in Sai and they don’t encourage Sai worship. But somehow my husband and myself developed love for Baba and we are frequent visitors to the mandir and I’m a regular reader of Sai Satcharitra. Whenever my mind is disturbed I just cling to Satcharitra.
Because of this problem of our community, I’ve a very small idol of Sai in my pooja and it’s almost not visible at all for a person who peeks into my pooja. But in my mind I always longed to have a slightly bigger idol than what I already possess. Whenever I see a idol somewhere I start longing for it.
I had just finished the parayan of the first Thursday and it was evening time. A friend of my husband came home and handed over a cover to me and said prasad. I didn’t ask him what prasad it was, nor did he mention. I just took the cover and placed it in my pooja. He was here for a good half an hour talking about some common things but never mentioned Shirdi or Baba. After he had left, my husband asked me what he gave and I said prasad. I went to the pooja and removed the cover. I was surprised and also stunned. It was prasad from Shirdi and a beautiful marble idol of Baba; exactly the size that I wished to have, neither too small, nor too big. My eyes were filled with tears. I immediately placed Baba on a pedestal and I’m doing pooja to both the idols since then. My mind is at peace.
Baba came home and it was like Him assuring me, Don’t bother about what others say or think about you, I’m there for you !

Mahaparayan it self is a great blessing of Baba to Samasta Loka. It is one of the gifts of Sai to us and from us to Sai by being a part of It. Love You Sai Maa. You are great. Jai Sairam!
