My Reminiscence With Sai Baba

To start with, I’m not someone who is very expressive but the urge for sharing my experience with Sai Baba was so strong that I have decided to come out of my comfort zone and narrate a few experiences. May He write through me!

It was during my college days when I came into Baba’s fold. Some of my friends used to visit Sai mandir every Thursday evening. One day, I decided to tag along with them. That day, my heart felt so much of warmth, warmth that’s something very unparalleled and unique to me. The feeling was beyond words I could express and there it all started; my journey with Sai Baba.

Initially as a teenager, I used to ask for silly things be it getting good marks, making it to a class on time or not getting penalized for some stupid things and Baba was always there for me. Perhaps, that’s how my faith in Him became firm and grew stronger with my stupid list of things. In due course of time, my conviction in Baba has become so deep that even if any of my wishes were not fulfilled, it didn’t matter to me. I knew that my Baba was, is and will always be with me guiding, guarding and leading the way.

Let me start with an experience from an incident that taught me a lesson for life; a teaching that I knew and have read numerous times in Sai Satcharitra. My husband and I wanted to extend our family. Around then, after completing Sai Satcharitra in a week, I got the good news that I’m pregnant. A week later, something happened which was very incidental: when my husband and I were praying, one of the saint pictures (whom my husband religiously followed) at the altar fell off to the ground. To that, I didn’t pick up immediately nor did I show the respect to act upon as I would have shown for my Baba or other family deities. Very next day, I came to know that my pregnancy is an ectopic one and never would have been successful. Despite Baba’s teaching to us to be respectful to different religions/saints regardless of having faith or not, it took an incident like this to etch that in me forever. Dear Sai Baba, please remove all such immorality and may I be a true disciple as You want each one of us to be – in thoughts, words and deeds!

Although many astrologers told us that it will take much longer for me to get pregnant, in a short span of time, with Baba’s grace, we are blessed with a baby boy. Baba has truly changed that for me, there was no prolonged wait and when I desired, I was able to conceive. Thank You Baba for everything.

Last year, I was introduced to Mahaparayan by my sister-in-law. Thanks to her and I’m so fortunate to be part of this forum. It gives so much positivity. Many wonderful things have started happening. After persistent pursuit with certain existing constraints, we were able to buy our first home. We had been trying for a fairly long time but it never materialized. But this time around, everything clicked and we now have moved to our new home. It’s all His blessings. Also, when I was told that I will have only one son, Baba again blessed me with the possibility of another.

Many times, I feel lazy to read my two chapters, sometimes not being very attentive while reading. Regardless, I never missed my reading even once and that’s my love for Him. May this love and faith increase many fold and make me free from vices like laziness and a restless mind.
