Om Shri Sai KrishnaRaamaShiva Maruthyaadhi Roopaaya Namah…!
Janmashtami the most divine day when Lord Krishna took birth is a powerful opportunity for us to immerse ourselves in Naam Smaran and Parayan, just as Sai Baba has instructed in the Sai Satcharitra. Reading the sacred scriptures on such auspicious occasions multiplies blessings manifold.
Recently, during the Shravan Maas Sai Satcharitra Saptah Parayan, a total of 378 complete parayans were lovingly offered at Baba’s feet in Dwarkamai, Shirdi in the traditional way represented by a coconut with dakshina of ₹108 and Annadan worth Rs. 1080, humbly presented in Shirdi through the Sai Global Foundation Trust, (Trust of Global Mahaparayan) on behalf of all the participants. This was truly a divine milestone in collective devotion!
Please note we have not taken any money from anyone and beaware of such scams.
Inspired by this tremendous success, the Global Mahaparayan family is now organizing a 9-day Janmashtami Sai Satcharitra Saptah Parayan from 16th August 2025 (Saturday) to 24th August 2025 (Sunday). Devotees all over the world will read the complete Sai Satcharitra within these nine blessed days, offering it as a loving seva at the sacred feet of Lord Krishna and Sai Baba two forms of the One Supreme.
We warmly invite each one of you to participate wholeheartedly and make this Janmashtami Parayan a grand spiritual success. Let us come together with Shraddha and Saburi, read with devotion, and receive Baba’s and Krishna’s abundant blessings during this sacred period.
How Baba Gave An Indication To Organise
A few days before Janmashtami, as the festival was approaching, I found myself in a dilemma weighed down by day-to-day challenges and had almost given up hope of organizing Janmashtami Saptah Parayan. Yesterday when my mother-in-law asked me to get something from a nearby grocery shop, I stepped out with a heavy heart with not able to work on the post for organising the Janmashatami Saptah.
As I walked the short lane to the shop (just a few meters), I silently prayed, “Baba, if You want us to conduct the Janmashtami Saptah Parayan, please give me a sign before this lane gets over that is before I reach the shop. If I see Lord Krishna’s photo or a peacock feather here then I will take it as Your indication.” As I passed a old temple on the way, which has been temporarily shifted due to road widening, I hoped to catch a glimpse of Krishna’s idol through the back door which was open (although its closed usually). But to my dismay, only the Shiv Ling was visible. Feeling a little disheartened, I continued and then, just like Baba works in the most subtle and wondrous ways, I was stunned to see a small Radha-Krishna murti (extra one) placed on a rack outside the back of the temple as Panditji was preparing for the Janmashtami celebrations. In that moment, my heart skipped a beat and I understood Baba’s subtle leela had shown me the sign in the most beautiful and unexpected way, indicating that the Parayan should be organised. Radha-Krishna (“Raah De… Krishna” in hindi meaning Show me the way,..Krishna) was showing me the way gently guiding me to organize the Janmashatami Saptah Parayan. It was a beautiful reminder that Krishna and Sai are one, and through this divine indication, Baba assured me that the Janmashatami Saptah parayan was meant to happen, unfolding exactly as He wished.
Attaching the photos for all of you to see how small is the lane and how impossible it was to see a Krishna photo or idol in that small distance of few meters.

A Tradition Rooted in Devotion
For over three decades, the Shirdi Sai Sansthan has upheld the tradition of performing Saptah Parayan during Shravan Maas. Drawing inspiration from this practice, the Global Mahaparayan team is overjoyed to introduce this spiritually enriching event to devotees across the globe, for the very first time for Janmashatami too.
This initiative isn’t just about reading a book, it’s about igniting faith, fostering unity, and aligning oneself with divine vibrations during one of the holiest months in the Hindu calendar.
Why Janmashatami Parayan is So Powerful
Janmashtami marks the divine birth of Lord Krishna the embodiment of dharma, love and leelas. Scriptures say that reading or listening to spiritual texts during such powerful tithis carries the virtue of countless readings done on ordinary days. When we do a Saptah Parayan (reading an entire holy scripture in seven days or nine days) during Janmashtami, the sattvic vibrations are at their peak. Just as Krishna manifested to destroy darkness and establish righteousness, reading Sai Satcharitra during this period removes negativity, obstacles and karmic baggage from our lives. Baba Himself emphasized Naamsmaran, Shravan(listening) and Parayan as the quickest path to His grace. The combined blessing of Sai and Krishna creates an unimaginably strong spiritual shield around the devotee and the household.\
A Saptah Parayan represents intense discipline, surrender and commitment. It is believed Baba listens personally when devotees read with faith. During Janmashtami, this becomes even more powerful as Krishna’s energy of righteousness combines with Baba’s unconditional love, leading to healing, protection and miracles in one’s life. People have experienced resolution of long pending problems, peace of mind, healing from illness, financial stability and most importantly, a deep inner connection with God. Thus, reading Sai Satcharitra as a Saptah during Janmashtami is not merely a ritual but it is a sacred doorway to experience divine grace.

2. How many chapters should I read daily?
Follow the daily schedule shared in your WhatsApp group. You will read a few chapters each day to complete the book in 9 days.
3. Can I listen to audio or watch videos instead of reading?
Yes. You may read, listen to audio, or watch videos of Sai Satcharitra chapters. What matters is understanding the content and applying Baba’s teachings in daily life.
4. What if I get my menstrual cycle during the Parayan?
Ladies may continue their Parayan by listening to the chapters or reading from a PDF during their periods. Spiritual intent and devotion matter most.
5. Can I join the Parayan late?
Yes. If you join late, you can catch up on missed chapters and still complete the Parayan by August 24, aligning with Global Mahaparayan’s Janmashtami Saptah Parayan.
6. What should I do on the final day of Parayan?
On the last day visit temple and offer prasad to Baba (home made or ready made) and also do some Annadaan. As whenever we do something in group it value or significance increases many folds. So your Saptaah will become a MahaSaptaah and Annadaan will become MahaAnnadaan!
7. Can I switch languages or media formats during Parayan?
Language or medium of parayan (audio/text/video) is not a bar. You can switch the languages or medium in between too. What is important is understanding and completing the parayan and then also the implementing the teachings of Baba in your daily life step by step(which is most important).
8. What is the purpose of the daily voting in the WhatsApp group?
You have to vote on the poll provided in the group. Even if you have completed reading further chapters vote only for that day. Eg if today is Friday 16th Aug then vote only for today’s poll chapters 1 to 6 unless your time zone is different. Then next day vote for previous day and current day also in the new poll. Please make sure that you complete the entire Sai Satcharitra in 9 days and read some portion daily and there be no break in between.
9. Is it okay to skip a day and read more the next day?
Please avoid breaks. Reading every day is essential for maintaining the spiritual rhythm. Self-discipline and consistency are encouraged.
10. Do I need to avoid non-vegetarian food during this Parayan?
On Janmashatami, people avoid non veg not only for religious regions but also scientific reasons like poor digestion in monsoon. We would recommend to avoid non veg during your Saptaah. If you cannot avoid then have it in moderation.
11. Will I receive reminders to read?
No personal reminders will be given. The WhatsApp group serves as a gentle nudge and daily motivation. The Parayan is self-monitored.
12. Is participation compulsory?
Not at all. Do what you can with devotion. Participation is completely optional, but once you begin, Baba takes care of the rest.
