Trusting In Sai Is The Answer

Shirdi Sai Devotee Sharranji From Australia Says: Om Sai Ram to my Beloved Sai Family. With Baba’s Blessings, I wish to share Part 3 of my contribution to Mahaparayan / Devotees’ Experiences. It is detailed because I needed to share that “Trusting in Sai is the Answer” and it is true that being a part of Mahaparayan, Baba has started to fulfill my wishes.
My husband and I have been in a long distance relationship/marriage from the time we met in 1999. He lives in US and I live in Australia. We only got to meet for a few weeks and sometimes even just for a few days in a year. For reasons beyond our control, there were always obstacles blocking us from being together. Months turned into years and years unto… 20 years. We would go to various places of worship from Temples and Churches to Mosques and Gurdwaras to pray to God to have mercy on us and end this distance between us. We even went to astrologers, palm readers, psychics, pandits, etc… anyone who could help us. We tried everything we could think of, that would remove the obstacles in our way of being together, including Feng Shui and Vaastu.

We just couldn’t understand why this kept happening and it was not until a couple of years ago, I realized that something was not right. Are we ever going to be together in this lifetime? I questioned God if He even existed and if He did, then why wasn’t He listening to our cries? Then in May 2017, Sai Baba entered my life. One day, I was casually watching a Sai Baba Movie on tv and was fascinated. I followed up with some research on the internet to get to know Sai better and came across Sai’s Satcharitra. I was casually reading it as a bedtime routine. I found that it had answered a lot of my questions. I made a comment to my husband on how bad we must have been to accumulate such karma and to be distant from each other all these years. We did acknowledge that even though we are paying for our past sins and bad karma we are also in many ways blessed that we have each other and family and that we have our health. The more I read about Sai, the more I was convinced that Baba was the Divine Incarnation.

Feb 2018, when my husband left me to return to the US, he said that we would be together in 2 months but it’s now 10 months since we were last together. That was also the time when I received a calendar of Baba from Sai Mandir in Sunnyvale, California. I brought Baba’s calendar back with me. My husband once again, couldn’t be with me for my birthday, so he said that he would take me to a resort when we were together next. I said no, as I promised Baba, before I go for any other trip or vacation, we will go see Baba first. My husband didn’t know much about Baba except what I share with him, so he said, “OK, I’ll take you to Shirdi!” Just hearing him say those words, was my “best birthday gift”.

I have always told Baba, “When my husband on his own takes me to Shirdi, is when I know that it is, in fact, You calling me, Baba.” My husband supports my devotion to Baba but is not yet Baba’s devotee himself. I told my husband that before going to Shirdi, we must first go pay our respects to our place of worship, the “Golden Temple” in Amritsar as Baba has taught us to not forget our “Father”. We called this our Spiritual trip to India.

As we had to attend a wedding in Malaysia, we both flew in from our respective countries and met at International Airport in Kuala Lumpur. The date was 18 December 2018 (1+8=9). 9 days later on Thursday, 27 December (2+7=9), we both went to apply for our Indian visa. We had only 3 weeks before we returned to Australia. We had such little time and in order to get our visa, we must show them our itinerary and a dummy ticket. There was only 1 direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Amritsar. There were no flights on Wednesdays or Fridays. The only available day was Thursday 4th January 2019 (again it confirmed to me that Baba’s hand was in this too.)

The agents said that we were not able to get an Indian visa in such a short time as I was a foreign national. They advised us to go and try our luck at the Visa office before purchasing our tickets. We were running around in the city as we couldn’t find the office and it was closing in less than half an hour. We kept asking for directions and I said, “Baba, only You are going to make everything happen so I’m leaving everything to You. If You wish for us to have Your Darshan, please Baba let us get our visas with ease.” After I said this, we found the office just around the corner.

We immediately entered and asked for guidance to apply for a visa. On questioning that we were foreigners, the person told us to go to Counter 9! We went there but nobody was there. The persons on counter 8 and 10 both enquired and 1 of them said it would take 2-3 weeks to apply for a tourist visa for a foreigner. I said, “Please help us, we wish to go to Golden Temple next week.” Then the other guy behind counter 10, told us that we could apply by e-visa and we would get it in 72 hours. He told us to wait for a while, which we did. After telling us that we could apply ourselves, we asked for help as we needed to get the visas ASAP to purchase the tickets. He said, “OK” and he himself came out to the computer in the guest area and did our application without us having dummy tickets as proof of travel. He said that we would get a confirmation email in 24-48 hours and we would be able to purchase our flight tickets then. We received the email overnight. As it was a Thursday, I told my husband that I wish to go to a Baba’s temple nearby and read my allotted 2 chapters for Mahaparayan. At Baba’s Feet I thanked Baba and said, “You only doing everything but still You create the problems and then You only clear it away.”

After our Golden Temple visit, we took a night flight from Amritsar to Mumbai. We arrived after midnight and hired a car to drive us to Shirdi. I was very worried about this car ride as I had heard about the dangerous roads and I prayed for Baba to please come to take us to Shirdi safely. Sat in the car and I was looking for Baba and saw Baba’s picture hanging from the rearview mirror. I told my husband, “see Baba came to pick us up.”

Arrived in Shirdi early morning and rested in the hotel and in the late afternoon got ready to go Sai Mandir. I started getting extremely anxious about how to go for Sai Darshan. We were in Shirdi but what do we do now? We didn’t know anyone who could advise us on how and what to do. We were both so out of place and unfamiliar to all the formalities of visiting a place like this. My husband was trying to be strong and asked me not to worry but I knew he didn’t know how we were going to do it either. I just started crying in the hotel room and my husband said, “You must have Faith in Sai Baba and He’ll take care of everything.”
So we went downstairs and asked for the hotel shuttle to take us to Baba’s Mandir. As we were about to close the transport door, 2 more guests ran and sat in the shuttle. They were waiting for another 2 family members. While we were waiting, I casually asked them where they were going and one of them said, “to Baba’s Mandir.” I said, “Oh we both are going too but we don’t know how as we are not familiar with Hindu rituals and formalities.” She offered for us to join them and I was so thankful and said, “this is Baba’s Leela as our meeting was Baba’s plan only.” She took our names and added us to VIP Darshan. We were glued to them everywhere so as not to get lost or separated. We visited Khandoba Mandir then had Baba’s VIP darshan during the evening Aarti and visited all the places. So thankful to this wonderful family from Delhi, that Baba had arranged, to hold our hands and guide us and help us throughout our entire visit to Shirdi. Not to forget, my husband who not only took me to Shirdi but also came along for every Darshan and bowed down when and where needed, paying his respects the same way as I was. We were supposed to stay in Shirdi for 2 nights but as per Baba’s Wish, we were only there for 1 day.

To be honest, we do not know what the future holds for us or whether our separation has truly ended but I have left it to Baba’s will. We have now been together for 5+ months and counting, which is the longest in our 20-year relationship. Apart from the day we got married, we never got to spend a single wedding anniversary together. Today is our 13th wedding anniversary, the 1st one that we are physically together. I feel very blessed that like so many others, Baba also chose me to be part of Mahaparayan, reading 2 chapters every Thursday since January 2018. In less than 2 years of Baba coming into my life, Baba called me to Shirdi and brought my husband and me together. “I humbly bow down and kiss Your Divine Feet, Baba! Koti Koti Pranam…

‘Trusting In Sai Is The Answer’  is just not a title of this experience or a bold statement. It is in real sense an answer to everyone’s Every question! Baba can do anything and will always do more than what we deserve. Such a beautiful experience and equally painful too. But Baba is there and may He soon bless you both to be together forever! Sharranji may we all soon read your another post of Union forever which would soon happen with God’s grace. Baba is very merciful! He will definitely make the ways! Love You Deva. Jai Jai Ho Sai. 😊
